Am I ...

Went to a 21st this weekend and have to admit have not been to one for at least 10 years. It was quite interesting as I looked around.
I remember my 21st (19 years ago) in the 'old" South Africa and how my friends went from lily white to ebony. How we danced, threw name and had fun. My friend's wedding in Lake Placid, New York and how we danced to Jaluka and Via Afrika, freaking the New Yorkers out.
Remember questioning everything - the state, the school system, the laws, the police and so it went on. Being water cannoned at music concerts. Being searched by police for no rhyme or reason as you walked down the street. We never wanted to conform and I'm thankful for that. Still battling to even vaguely conform!

Helge - DJ, Fashion Designer, Teacher, Dancer, Performance Artist and Friend - has finally hit the decks again. He is playing at Skiddo's on a Sat night. What an awesome time we had! Electrical storm, lightning everywhere, and open verandah so the dance floor literally looked elektrified. My most asesome moment was when he played Free Nelson Mandela by the Special AKA - first time I've heard it in a decade! Helge we love u!

Mr Nice

Had my first ever encounter with a book club. Have to say it went rather smoothly thanks to Carms. Found an awesome book to read supplied by Noodle - Mr Nice. Nearly finished it already. Have fantasy one from Kate as my second. Just need to get some sleep first.

And then...

I cut my finger badly on my sister's car. Injections and bandages. Could I stay out of trouble for a while.
